The Wilderness Society reminds us that 2021 featured significant environmental victories including restored protections for the Bears Ears, Grand Escalante Staircase, Northeast Canyons and Seamounts national monuments, denying oil rigs access to the Arctic Refuge, establishing permanent logging protection for Alaska’s vast Tongass National Forest, the U.S. rejoining the Paris Agreement and taking an active role once again in international climate efforts, and more.
